Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions?
At Advanced Integrative Health Center, we understand that you may have questions about our services, treatments, and policies. Below, we’ve compiled answers to the most commonly asked questions to help you better understand what to expect. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact our office.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your insurance card and driver’s license to your initial appointment. This will allow us to verify your insurance benefits and provide you with an estimate of coverage. We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your problem areas.
Does insurance cover my treatment?
Short answer: It depends. Each insurance company and each insurance plan is different. In most cases, insurance covers all or a portion of your treatment. For more information, do not hesitate to contact our office with questions, and our billing staff can look into your specific plan and benefits.
How long are my appointments?
We are not a “cookie-cutter” style office, so the length of your session will depend on the treatments you are receiving. During your initial consultation, we allot 30 minutes to an hour of the doctor’s time, so we can be thorough in our exam and diagnosis while also answering any and all of your questions. After the initial consultation, follow up times are dependent on your diagnosis and treatment plan. Typically, total treatment times are anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on what services are provided. If you require more time with the doctor, extended appointments are available. If you have questions, please consult with your doctor.
How many treatments will I need?
Every patient and their situation is unique and different. We do not believe in using cookie cutter treatment programs, and take a highly individualized, patient specific approach to care. Each patient’s diagnosis, needs, and treatments are different. Some conditions resolve relatively quickly, some within 4-6 visits, others can take significantly longer as there are a variety of factors that can determine the rate that someone heals. Once we have a consultation, we can determine a more specific timeframe of recovery. At the Advanced Integrative Health Center we closely monitor your progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
What is Integrative Medicine?
Integrative medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that brings together the best of several healthcare specialties into a comprehensive, unique, individual focused plan to address a patient’s needs. It focuses on the whole person, not just the disease or condition, and emphasizes the relationship between the patient and the provider as a key part of healing.
What are some of the benefits of Integrative Medicine?
There are several benefits to this style of healthcare.
1. Whole-Person Care
Integrative medicine looks at all aspects of your health, not just your specific condition, and how outside factors influence your condition and your overall health. It treats root causes, not just symptoms.
2. Combines the Best of Several Worlds
It uses a blend of several different healthcare specialties to help treat the patient.
For example, a patient shoulder or ankle pain and dysfunction comes into clinic. We might perform an orthopedic and neurological evaluation of the affected area and recommend a combination of conservative medication, physical therapy exercises, and chiropractic adjusting while simultaneously implementing other rehabilitative treatments such as dry needling, muscle and connective tissue release therapies, electrotherapy, etc. This would be coupled with nutrition counseling and ergonomic guidance along with functional movement coaching to assist the patient for more last results and long term prevention. All these combine together having a synergistic effect that helps ease pain and accelerate the healing process over other, more conventional methods – restoring function faster.
3. Personalized & Patient-Centered
Treatment plans are tailored to each individual’s unique needs, values, and health goals. Patients are encouraged to take an active role in their own care.
4. Prevention-Focused
Rather than waiting for condition or disease to occur, integrative medicine emphasizes prevention and lifestyle-based interventions to support optimal function and long-term wellness.
5. Evidence-Based
While it embraces various therapies, integrative medicine still relies on scientific evidence and clinical experience to guide treatment decisions.
6. Healing-Oriented
The goal isn’t just symptom relief—it’s true healing and restoration of balance and function in the body.
This approach to healthcare enhances quality of life. It helps to reduce reliance on medications or surgeries, and encourages long-term wellness – empowering the patient in all aspects of their health and wellness.
